Under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, we propose to impose a 30 mph speed limit on Moors Lane, Rugby from its junction with the A428, in a generally north-westerly direction for a distance of 381 metres.

A copy of the proposed order, together with a plan showing the length of road affected and a statement of our reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be inspected at the Main Reception, Shire Hall, Market Place, Warwick, at the Rugby Borough Council, Town Hall, Evreux Way, Rugby and at the Library & Information Centre, Little Elborow Street, Rugby during usual opening hours.
Statement of reasons
New housing development of land either side of Moors lane on the eastern side of Hillmorton, has led to a proposal to change the speed limit along the section of road in that locale.
Currently, there is a National speed limit n place along this route. This length of Highway will soon include a number of accesses leading into new housing developments with the development both side of the carriageway.
The proposal is to revoke the existing national speed limit along this road which will then be replaced by a 30 mph speed limit.
Reducing the current speed limit should have the effect of slowing motorists down to assist traffic turning in/out of the new housing developments, preserve visibility and aid road safety.
