Monitoring

The senior leadership team ensures that:  

  • There are systems in place to monitor how effectively communication and interaction needs are being met including for young people educated off site. 
  • There are procedures in place for the senior leadership team to assess how effectively policies are implemented and staff are meeting communication and interaction needs such as sensory audits, classroom observations and pupil panels e.g. by completing the AET standards audit.  
  • There are assessment, tracking and target setting systems in place for all young people so that concerns about social communication skills are identified as soon as possible.  
  • That additional support is recorded for young people when required in line with the graduated approach (PDF, 65 KB)
  • Parent and young person views of the effectiveness of provision are gathered.
