This will allow us to identify any discrepancies, potential fraud and errors more quickly.

Single Person’s Council Tax Discount
If you are the only person over 18 living in your home as your sole or main residence, you are entitled to a 25 per cent discount on your Council Tax.
Reporting a change in circumstances
You are required by law to inform us of any change to the information used to assess your claim.
Examples of changes in circumstances include:
- all changes to the household (ie people moving in, people moving out, baby being born, a child turning 18 etc)
- you or your partner go into hospital for more than six weeks
- you or your partner become a student or stop being a student.

Adult Social Care
A personal budget is an upfront sum of money to meet your care and support needs. You will also be offered the option of taking this as a direct payment which gives independence, choice and control by enabling you to commission your own care and support to meet your needs.
You will be offered a personal budget if:
- you have been assessed as being eligible for care and support
- you have been a customer in our reablement home care service and have been assessed as needing continuing support.

You are required by law to inform us of any change to the information used to assess your needs assessment.
Tenancy fraud
Tenancy fraud means someone who may be in greater need of housing doesn’t get the chance to be offered a property. If you are caught committing fraud, you’re likely to lose your tenancy and you could lose your right to social housing in the future.
Depending on the seriousness of the fraud, it’s also possible you could be fined and/or sent to prison.
Reporting a change in circumstances
You are required by law to inform us of any change to the information which may impact your tenancy agreement.
Examples of changes in circumstances include:
- changes to occupying the property
- sub-letting without permission or living there after someone has died without the right to do so.
