Health advocacy services
An integrated health advocacy service is available to people in Warwickshire provided by VoiceAbility. This includes:
- NHS complaints advocacy
- general health advocacy
- independent mental health advocacy
NHS complaints advocacy
You can access this service if you have received NHS treatment and require support to raise and resolve a complaint about your care and treatment. The service can also be accessed by a person who knows someone that is unhappy about treatment or care they have received from the NHS.
General health advocacy
You can access this service if you need support to have a say in your care or treatment or plan your discharge from hospital. This service will help if you:
- have a physical or learning disability
- have a mental health disability
- are being treated in a general acute hospital
- are over the age of 65
Independent mental health advocacy
You can access this service if you are being treated in a local mental health hospital or are accessing local NHS community based mental health services. Support will be provided so that you can, amongst other things, be fully involved in decisions about your mental health care and treatment. You will be able to access information about your rights under the Mental Health Act and apply and prepare for a Mental Health Tribunal.
Referral
