Health conditions
A-Z of health conditions
The NHS provides a comprehensive list of health conditions. It includes lots of useful information such as an overview, diagnosis, treatment, advice and support.
Living without a diagnosis
Some families find it hard to get a diagnosis for their child. This may be because it is a rare condition or tests have been inconclusive. In these cases, families can go through a range of emotions.
Contact is a national charity for families with disabled children. They have produced a guide for parents and carers who have a child with a learning difficulty or health problem, but they do not know its cause (PDF, 456KB).
Rare Conditions
Contact also provide information and support for families who have a child diagnosed with a rare condition.
Undiagnosed
The Undiagnosed website brings three organisations together: Genetic Alliance UK, Rare Disease UK and SWAN UK to provide information, advice and support for those with a rare genetic condition.
