Apply for an apprenticeship
Apprenticeship vacancies are advertised on our jobs board and require you to complete an online application, justifying how you meet the criteria for the role. If you apply successfully, you will be offered an interview.
Apprenticeships are subject to business need and so we do not always recruit to the same positions annually. Most vacancies we offer will be advertised between April – August to start in September, however we may recruit at any point in the year.
If there are currently no apprenticeship opportunities on our jobs board, you can contact the WCC Apprenticeships and Placements Team for further information about our apprenticeships and when they may be advertised via email: apprentice@warwickshire.gov.uk.

Applying for an apprenticeship and getting your foot in the door to find a job can feel like a daunting experience. Here are some useful tips to help you apply for an apprenticeship at Warwickshire County Council.
Prepare your application
Your application is the first impression we get of you so have a think about what you want to say. There are lots of online resources to help you apply for a job but some key elements you can include are:
- Contact details
- Education
- Any previous work experience
- Volunteering experience
- Your skills Technical/IT knowledge
- Languages
Get yourself noticed
We want to know not just what getting an apprenticeship at WCC will do for you, but what you can bring to WCC!
At WCC, our people work with passion and purpose, so we want to know what value you can bring to the organisation with your skills, attitude and creativity.
Think carefully about how you can make an impact at the Council. Are you creative, or great with teamwork? Are you someone is supportive, or an organiser? Make sure you let us know in your application.
Take initiative
One of the best ways to figure out if the apprenticeship your applying for is right for you is to read the job description thoroughly. Everything you need to know will be in there, such as educational requirements. The information in the job description can help you to shape your application.
Other ways you can demonstrate initiative include:
Take online courses to fill in gaps you may have in your skillset
Think about what skills you have from other experiences such as education or volunteering that are transferable to the apprenticeship you want to apply for
Read about the speciality you are applying for to improve your knowledge
