Bridge details and location

C33 Baginton Mill Bridge

Baginton Mill Bridge is located on the outskirts of Baginton, near Coventry and carries Mill Hill which is a key route between Baginton, Coventry Airport and the A45. The bridge was built in circa C18 and is located over the River Sowe. It is a grade II listed structure consisting of three semi-circular brick arches with ashlar sandstone elevations, string course at road level, low parapets with plain copings and rectangular piers at each end.

The sandstone used to construct the bridge is known as Warwick Sandstone which is known to be particularly susceptible to erosion. The bridge’s stone elevations are severely weathered and need to be repaired to avoid the risk of structural damage or the need for a weight restriction.
