The Migrant Communities Grant Fund launches on Monday 14 October at 9am. The deadline for applications is Sunday 10 November 2024 at 5pm.

Our Migrant Communities Grant Fund is a grant aimed at community and voluntary sector organisations which support asylum seeker, refugee, and migrant communities. The fund pot of £30,000 is to support small-scale projects across Warwickshire that support the following outcome:

People fleeing conflict and persecution can rebuild their lives in Warwickshire, fulfil their aspirations and contribute to the social, economic and cultural life of the communities they live in.

All applications should aim to support integration of newly arrived communities, including refugees and asylum seekers from the following schemes:

  • UK resettlement schemes
  • Afghan resettlement schemes
  • Ukraine schemes
  • Hong Kong BNO (British National Overseas) scheme
  • Asylum seeker scheme

All projects should be delivered in Warwickshire and focus on the following priorities:

  • Improve access to services
  • Reduce loneliness and isolation
  • Improve physical and/or mental health and wellbeing
  • Promote equalities and inclusivity

Applications supporting community provision of English language will also be considered.

Examples of the types of items that can be funded by the grant might include, but are not limited to:

  • Venue hire (needs to be at a competitive hourly rate)
  • ESOL teaching resources - for example books, pens, paper and whiteboards
  • Student travel expenses (bus passes or £0.41 a mile and £0.04 additional passenger)
  • Volunteer travel expenses (£0.41 a mile and £0.04 for an additional passenger)
  • Provision of clothing for asylum seekers
  • Provision of social activities
