Warwickshire County Council is working closely with District and Borough Councils and partners to support Ukrainian families and individuals who require it.
Warwickshire has a long and proud history of supporting refugees, including those fleeing Ukraine, who have had their lives and families torn apart by war. With the conflict in Ukraine adding to the record numbers of people displaced by conflict, thousands of refugees have arrived in the UK in desperate need of a warm welcome and support.
Warwickshire County Council is working closely with District and Borough Councils and partners to support Ukrainian families and individuals who require it.
To help Ukrainian people access support in Warwickshire, the county council has created an information resource at www.warwickshire.gov.uk/ukraine. This includes a welcome pack with a range of advice and links to support from public, voluntary and community services. It is available on the page in English and Ukrainian as a PDF file wich can be downloaded.
The content has been compiled with in collaboration with from the county’s District and Borough Councils, health and voluntary and community services who continue to work together to help those who have fled Ukraine as well as those who remain in the conflict zone.
Warwickshire residents have already expressed their support and help in many ways by offering accommodation, donations and direct aid and the website has areas for those who want to assist the ongoing humanitarian efforts. The pages also include details on the new Homes for Ukrainian scheme, which was announced by Government on 18th April 2022. The scheme allows individuals, charities, community groups and businesses in the UK to bring Ukrainians to safety – including those with no family ties to the UK.
Leader of Warwickshire County Council, Councillor Izzi Seccombe said: “Warwickshire stands ready to provide support to those affected by this war and we them to the county with open arms. We are working with, and supporting the efforts of, our local communities to provide help and comfort to those in need who find themselves in difficulty through no fault of their own.”

Warwickshire County Council will continue to provide updates as further information becomes available.
