Have you, or has anyone in your family, ever borrowed some support equipment from Warwickshire County Council’s Integrated Community Equipment (ICE) service?

If you have worked with one of our health and social care practitioners, you or a family member may have borrowed one of the devices pictured alongside this article. This includes mobile hoists, walking frames, cushions, trolleys, perching stools, patient turners, crutches, repose products, wheelchairs, bathlifts and commodes.

If you still have one of these devices, but no longer have a use for it, please return it to Millbrook Healthcare by calling 0333 321 8986. They will assess it for reuse, and if this is not possible the equipment will be correctly recycled. If the equipment is suitable for someone else to use it, it’s important that it is returned so that the council can properly clean it and pass it on to another individual in need.

All equipment that displays barcode stickers such as the one in the photograph below is equipment that has been provided on loan to a named person. This needs to be returned to Millbrook Healthcare – just call 0333 321 8986.

Cllr Les Caborn, Portfolio Holder for Public Health said:

"In times of limited resources it's important that we all work together and look to see where we can save money. Many of these items after being sterilised can be re-used, which will save the public purse.

"The other advantage is that when no longer needed these items can take up a lot of space, so we urge residents to return them as soon as possible"
