Warwickshire County Council can confirm that the programme of work is on schedule to be completed by the 24th of March. The third stage of the works is well underway and due to be complete by the end of today (Friday 21st). The fourth stage of the works (within the central island) will start on Monday 25th.

To carry out these works and to protect the workforce, the short section of road linking Weddington Road to Old Hinckley Road will be closed between 9:30am until 3:30pm.

A short diversion route and appropriate signage will be in place and personnel on site will continue to assist pedestrians crossing the A444 while works are taking place.

The county council is aware that this may cause some disruption so, in order to help minimise delays, the contractor will be providing additional operatives on site to monitor the queues of traffic and manually control the traffic lights to keep traffic moving.

All traffic restrictions and controls will be removed in advance of the peak periods and over the weekend and pedestrian crossing arrangements will be uncontrolled (as they were before the works began).

The council would like to apologise for any temporary disruption to travel that this essential programme of works causes.
