Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service is opening its doors this weekend and welcoming people to take part in a series of taster days.
The taster days are an opportunity for anyone interested in a career in the fire service to come along and see what it takes to become a firefighter with WFRS. Each taster day will involve an introduction to the fire service, a chance to take part in our drills and an opportunity to meet our crews and ask any questions you may have.
Talking about the taster days, Councillor Andy Crump, portfolio holder for Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service said:
“If you’ve ever thought about joining the fire service but wanted to find out more, then these taster days are a great opportunity for an informal chat with our crews.
“You’ll be able to try out our drills and meet our firefighters who will be on hand with advice if you want to improve your technique or have questions about training and fitness levels.
“The taster days are a great chance to get an insight into life in the fire service and provide an informal opportunity for anyone interested to come along and try out the equipment and types of exercises you would be expected to complete as part of the recruitment process in to the service.”
The taster days will be held on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 April at Kenilworth Fire Station, 16 School Ln, Kenilworth CV8 2GU
