From 1 August 2019, Warwickshire County Council has commissioned P3 to deliver an accommodation-based housing related support service for vulnerable people aged 25+ across the county.
P3, which already provides ‘floating’ housing related support in Warwickshire including street outreach to people sleeping rough, is taking over the running of the accommodation-based service from HomeGroup, the provider for the previous three years.
P3’s service will provide support, including accommodation, to customers for up to two years to enable them to gain the skills needed to then move on to live independently in the community, thereby preventing problems that can cause homelessness, hospitalisation or institutional care.
Cllr Les Caborn, Portfolio Holder for Adult Social Care and Health said: “Housing Related Support is a key part of Warwickshire County Council’s commitment to supporting the most vulnerable people in our communities. The council knows that our customers prefer to live independently and we support them in doing so. Not only is it their preference but it also enables us to make our resources go further.
“We are pleased to be working with P3 to support Warwickshire residents to gain the skills to maintain their independence and lead happy, healthy lives.”
Mark Simms, CEO of P3 said: “We’re delighted to be delivering this service across Warwickshire.
“P3 truly understands the importance of support that promotes stability and enables people to continue living within the security of their own homes. Our approach is to not offer a one-size fits all service, but to see each client as an individual and offer bespoke, tailored support to enable them to overcome their own personal barriers.
“Together, we will work to ensure people are informed and engaged with, and the transition to P3 is both smooth and positive for the people accessing the service.”
In addition to the accommodation-based service for people 25+, there are three other well established services Housing Related Support services working in the county:
Salvation Army Housing Association – Accommodation-based support for young people aged 16-24.
St Basils – Floating support for young people aged 16-24.
