Vital and vibrant places are integral to our sense of wellbeing.

Our Spaces offered artists, designers, and creatives to get invaluable experience working on a collaborative public realm project. The result was 7 functional artist led installations, offering visual and tactile interest to our towns: these also helped connect green and urban environments and communicated community voice and identity.

Beyond the installations

Beyond the installations, there is a story. Two written features explore the role of public art in Warwickshire and how it can influence placemaking, exploring both the negative and positive perceptions it brings.

Art in Public Places

Art in Warwickshire

This series of commissions has provided an opportunity for artists, designers and creatives to get invaluable experience working on a collaborative public realm project. A project team, including Creative Giants, representatives from the local authorities, and a specialist delivery partner supported the team of artists to develop an ambitious idea into a functional street intervention for a public space.

Each commission has responded to a site-specific brief, as well as the overarching project themes of connecting green and urban space, community voice and identity.
