How to book
To book a slot, go to the recycling centres page, select your local recycling centre and click on the Book here button near the top of the page.
In order to book, you just need an email address to receive the ticket confirmation. You will be asked to complete your address and the registration number of the car you will visit in. You can also create an account in the booking system to access your booking details and cancel your booking.
Please read all the booking information so that you know what to expect when you visit.
If I don’t have access to the internet, try to get a friend or relative with the internet to book for you. Alternatively, you can contact the Customer Service Centre and they will book an appointment for you.
Helpful tips when booking
Eventbrite have recently changed the layout of the booking pages which has caused some difficulty when trying to select a time slot an hour or more ahead of time.
For more times, click on either of the two ‘More options’ links. A pop-up window should appear.
Without a touch screen, select a different time and that will go blue. Then use the keyboard ‘left’ and ‘right’ arrow keys < > to scroll to the desired time and click with the mouse to select the time. Click ‘confirm’ on the calendar pop-up.
Click ‘reserve a spot’ and you will be taken to the address and vehicle registration page.
The layout of the pop-up screen is different in Firefox, compared to Edge and Google, and the confirm button is not always visible. It should be possible to make the screen zoom smaller which makes the pop up smaller and reveals the ‘confirm’ button. Use the three dots in the top right of the screen and zoom out until the ‘confirm’ button is visible. The keyboard shortcut to zoom out in Firefox is Ctrl+minus (-).
Appointment duration and availability
Each slot will be 15 minutes. Please pre-sort recycling and waste at home for a quick turnaround time and to help the site run efficiently.
New slots are released every morning a week in advance. New releases, as well as other updates about the service, will be announced via our Facebook and X (previously Twitter) accounts.
If you can no longer make your appointment, please cancel your slot as soon as possible so that it is available to other people. If you have set up an account with Eventbrite, you can cancel your appointment by following the link 'View and manage your order online' in your confirmation email.
