The Social Care and Health Directorate is made up of Social Care and Support, Public Health and Social Care and Health Commissioning.  We work together to maximise the health and wellbeing of people of all ages in Warwickshire and to reduce health inequalities.

We safeguard and support people, especially the most vulnerable in our communities, with a focus on enabling them to live happy, healthy and independent lives.

We focus on strengths and assets in people and communities and the quality of social care practice and service provision are priorities for us.

Relationships and partnership are important to us and we invest time is listening to and working with our residents, customers, family carers, District and Borough Councils, the Voluntary and Community Sector, NHS partners and our health and care market to improve and develop our offer to local people.

Social Care & Health (Social Care & Health Commissioning)

Director, Zoe Mayhew

Social Care and Health Commissioning focuses on the development of strategy and the delivery of commissioning plans for adults, children and young people living in Warwickshire that require advice, guidance and support.

The scope of commissioning activity is wide ranging from children's centres and mental health to dementia support.  We have three service areas focusing on commissioning activity for children and all age disability, older people and quality assurance and market management.

We work in an integrated way with the Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board and South Warwickshire University Foundation Trust (SWFT) supporting the community integrator arrangements. We have a number of joint commissioning posts, including the Director of Social Care and Health Commissioning/Chief Commissioning Officer who is a shared role with the ICB and SWFT.

Social Care and Support (Service Delivery)

Director, Pete Sidgwick

We are an ‘all age’ service area, supporting older people, people with a disability or long-term illness, adults with mental health needs and carers. We do this by working with the person to identify their strengths, the support they have available from their personal networks or the wider community and by considering what support we as a Local Authority can provide. We also safeguard adults whose circumstances make them vulnerable, to protect them from avoidable harm.
