Economic Development is at the heart of the Council’s strategic priorities our focus is on targeting investment in major infrastructure and regeneration to boost social mobility and living standards. We want our county to be one that provides high quality jobs, living standards and good prospects, and supporting those who need it most.
The Economy & Skills Team contribute to the Council’s plan by attracting economic investment and maximising the rate of employment, business growth and skill levels. In collaboration with partner organisations, the service works to enable economic growth across Warwickshire, commissioning and delivering a range of business support and skills programmes, inward investment support and the provision of high-quality business centres.
Our Economy and Skills Team is central to achieving this ambition, and you would be responsible for leading this agenda at an exciting time when post COVID-19 recovery and economic performance is at the top of agenda.
The Strategy & Commissioning Manager for Economy & Skills has a broad remit, working with key strategic partners to develop and implement our approach to developing a prosperous and high growth economy. They have responsibility for a team that seeks to secure and manage external funding to undertake economic development and business support programmes; a team that provides pro-active advice and support to businesses, particularly with respect to access to finance; a Business Centres team operating a range of workspaces across the county; an investment team looking to drive forward our key priority sectors and secure new business locations into the county; and an employment and skills team, working with businesses, training providers and schools to ensure a strong supply of skilled residents to support our growth ambitions. You will be leading a team of 30 individuals in a variety of roles that are based across the county.
