How do I apply
Once you have found a vacancy you would like to apply for, just click on the ‘Apply Online’ button at the bottom of the advert. Please note, you will need to register with an email address before you get started.
Do you accept CVs?
Generally speaking, we do not accept CV’s. We ask that candidates complete an application form for a vacancy rather than submitting a CV as we think this gives you the best opportunity to demonstrate your skills and experience for a role. Within the application form, you will be asked for details of your qualifications and experience as well as examples of how you meet the criteria for the vacancy.
This helps us assess your suitability but also gives you the opportunity to tell us more about your skills and fit for the role. We strive to ensure our process is fair to all applicants and the same criteria are taken into account.
Occasionally there are roles where a CV may be accepted, if this is the case, it will be made clear on the job description.
Can I apply for more than one job at a time?
We are happy to receive a number of applications however you will need to complete a separate application for each role.
How will I know if you have received my application form?
Once you have applied you will receive an automated email confirming receipt of your application. If you don’t receive confirmation within 24 hours, please check your junk mail. If you still haven’t received it, please email hrandpayroll@warwickshire.gov.uk.
How can I receive email alerts for future jobs?
You can register for automated email alerts for any job that matches your requirements by clicking the ‘save this search as job alert’ button on the WCC jobs board. This should mean that you will never miss the opportunity to find the perfect role with WCC.
Can I arrange another interview date if I am not available for the scheduled interviews?
We try to ensure that we advertise the interview dates so that applicants know well in advance. Where possible, we can try to reschedule an interview date however unfortunately we can’t always do so. It can be difficult to get the same interview panel together without causing a significant delay to the process which isn’t fair for other candidates and the hiring manager.
How do I apply for Management and Leadership Roles?
At Warwickshire leadership skills are critical to our success and helping us achieve our key behaviour of 'being the best we can be' so our recruitment process for Management and Leadership roles focuses on our behaviours and capabilities. We want people who can build relationships, generate teamwork and motivate and inspire their colleagues.
Job Descriptions for these roles are little different to reflect this and questions will be based on capabilities and potential for leadership while the process is likely to include a minimum of ability tests and a presentation.
What are the essential and desirable criteria?
The job description for each vacancy will specify the skills and experience which are essential to fulfil the role. We use these to shortlist who will go through to interviews so please make sure you remember to demonstrate how you meet the criteria in your application form.
What happens to the personal information on my application form?
You can be confident that this information will be treated within the strictest confidence and in compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
We request equality and diversity information for monitoring purposes but be assured this section will be separated from your application and does not go to the interview panel.
Your personal details will be stored for a maximum of six months at which time they will be confidentially disposed of. If you are successful in your application your personal information will be kept securely on your personal file.
Can I apply for a job share?
