Resourcing to Risk is a programme to identify how we can best position our resources to make the biggest difference to the communities we serve. In order to deliver on our Prevention, Protection and Response Strategy (PDF, 3 MB), we must have the right resource, in the right place and at the right time.

From December 2023 to March 2024, we invited views and feedback on the Resourcing to Risk proposal via ask.warwickshire.gov.uk. We are grateful to everyone who completed the survey and took the time to join us at one of the information sessions that were held around Warwickshire at the start of 2024.

As a result of this feedback, a new proposal – Model A – was developed and WCC’s Cabinet agreed on Tuesday 16 July to adopt this as the future operating model for WFRS. The Cabinet paper, with the rationale for change and the details of Model A is available via the democracy.warwickshire portal.

Since then, we have carried out further consultation with our staff and negotiations with representative bodies such as the FBU. We are now moving into the delivery phase of the project to move to our new operating model, which we expect to be fully in place towards the end of 2025.
