Lara Macnab – Team Lead for Litigation
Lara joined Warwickshire Legal Services in 2009 and now leads the Litigation team, advising on and specialising in:
- Trading Standards
- Fire safety
- Investigation and restraint of domestic abuse and anti-social behaviour
- Domestic homicide reviews
- Gypsies and Travellers
- Housing (including disrepair and injunctions)
- Environmental Health
- General civil and criminal litigation
Prosecuting traders for offences contrary to the Fraud Act, Proceeds of Crime Act, Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations, and General Product Safety Regulations, Lara has also successfully prosecuted farmers for animal welfare, and animal by-product and cattle identification offences.
Lara has successfully conducted civil proceedings to enforce terms of Mobile Homes Act 1983 agreements in respect of occupiers of Warwickshire County Council’s three permanent Gypsy and Traveller accommodation sites. She has also obtained Part 55 Possession Orders, and orders pursuant to Section 78 Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 to remove trespassers from highways and local authority owned land.
Litigation Team
Supporting Warwickshire County Council and other local authorities around the country’s litigation needs, the Litigation Team has a proven track record at court representing their clients’ best interest. With both solicitors and an in-house barrister, the team has a wide range of experience in both criminal and civil proceedings and routinely conducts trading standards matters, obtains sexual harm prevention orders, acquires account freezing orders, and proceeds of crime act orders, including successful applications for variations of POCA Orders for Trading Standards resulting in the release funds from criminal properties.
