Basic requirements for the role
To be eligible for this opportunity, you must:
- Be a fully competent Watch Manager (WM) within a UK fire and rescue service.
- Hold an Incident Command Level 1 (ICL1) qualification (or equivalent).
- Have a strong leadership background, with experience managing teams in an operational setting.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and decision-making skills.
- Be passionate about developing others, driving improvement, and delivering outstanding community service.
- Have a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in the fire service.
- Hold an IFE qualification (Level 3 Certificate or above) or complete the WFRS Gateway Examination before applying.
If you do not currently hold an Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) qualification, Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Service will facilitate a Gateway Examination to ensure you meet the necessary standard before submitting your application. This is designed to support external candidates in meeting our entry requirements.
