Apply for a chaperone licence

Warwickshire County Council only approve chaperones who live in Warwickshire. You must apply to the local authority in which you live if you live outside of Warwickshire.

Children must be in the care of either their parent (the child’s legal guardian) or an approved chaperone at all times. A chaperone licence is valid for three years. The chaperone approval/renewal cost is £25 for volunteer chaperones and £69 for paid chaperones.

You must allow four months for a chaperone/renewal licence. It can be quicker than this but we cannot guarantee anything less than four months, due to a DBS being undertaken. The minimum age for a chaperone is 18 years old. We only approve chaperones who live in Warwickshire.

You will need to have your ID checks in one of our offices, currently in Warwick and Bedworth, once you have submitted all of your documents to us. Please contact us at chaperones@warwickshire.gov.uk if you are interested in becoming a chaperone or renewing your chaperone licence.

The application forms are as below, but you will still need to contact us for all other information on becoming a chaperone.

An interview will be required for all new chaperones. Download, print and complete either the chaperone application form or the chaperone renewal form and contact our office to arrange to undertake a DBS check.

You will also need to undertake some online training. We will send you the links for all further information required once you have contacted us. Please email the application form to us and we will send you the remaining documents you require. There is also a document detailing the process below:
