Section 1 - Leamington Spa town centre to Bericote roundabout

Section 1a - Leamington Spa, Clarendon Avenue to A452 Kenilworth Road boundary

K2l section 1a

K2L section 1a

Section 1a was officially opened in April 2024. It is made up of:

  • On road section using the lightly trafficked Beauchamp Road and Binswood Avenue to travel between Clarendon Avenue and Kenilworth Road.
  • Improved crossing of Clarendon Avenue to connect with existing infrastructure on Tavistock Street.
  • New cycle parking stands at the junction of Clarendon Avenue and Beauchamp Road.
  • Toucan crossing to cross cyclists to/from the eastern side of Kenilworth Road.
  • Binswood Avenue to Cloister Crofts - off carriageway segregated three metre wide two-way cycle track and two metre wide footway. Included upgrading the traffic signals at the busy Lillington Avenue junction.
  • Cloister Crofts to edge of Leamington Spa - off carriageway three metre wide shared use footway/cycleway.
  • Priority side road crossings including at Cloister Crofts reinforce that cyclists and pedestrians have priority over turning vehicles.  A short film has been produced to provide guidance on how to use the priority crossing:
