Section 2 - River Avon and floodplain crossing, Chesford
This is the most complex section of K2L. It requires the design and construction of a new 200 metre crossing of the River Avon and floodplain. Initial survey work has been completed and three conceptual options for a pedestrian cycle bridge have been prepared. Work is ongoing to confirm a preferred alignment and design for the bridge, ensuring that the solution is cost effective and meets all required standards including in relation to flood management and ecological impacts. The river crossing will require planning permission.
Next steps
Complete flood modelling work and ecological studies, confirm route alignment and preferred bridge design option.
Timescale
