Promoting the Local Offer
We know we need to promote the Local Offer in a variety of ways to ensure we are reaching as many families as early as possible. To help improve access to the Local Offer, we have recently created a Local Offer Facebook page.
The SEND Local Offer website is promoted by the Family Information Service at community events. There are also weblinks from other services including the Family Information Service and local NHS providers. The Local Offer is also promoted through the Warwickshire County Council SENCO network to encourage practitioners in schools to visit and use the website.
Warwickshire County Council also communicates with parents, carers and young people through social media and online newsletters. We have created an electronic and printed version of the Local Offer flyer plus a display poster which has gone to children and family centres, GPs, schools and other community venues.
In addition, we have co-produced a short animation with parent carers and young people in conjunction with other local authorities in the West Midlands to help raise awareness of the Local Offer, its purpose and where to go to find help and support. We hope this will be a more accessible tool for both families and services to access and signpost to the Local Offer. You can view the animation here: Warwickshire's Local Offer
