Uniform

The Fire Control Team take pride in wearing their Fire Service uniform.

Annual leave

A healthy allocation of annual leave shifts (28 including Public Holidays).

Pension

The successful candidate will be eligible to join the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).

Salary

Salaries for the role are as follows: 

  • Trainee - whilst in initial training
    • £25,819 per annum. 
  • Development - following completion of initial training, whilst in development 
    • £26,895 per annum.
  • Competent - once assessed and certified as fully competent in role. 
    • £34,415 per annum. 

Career progression

Fire Control follows a rank structure which is:

  • Firefighter (Control)
  • Crew Manager (Control)
  • Watch Manager (Control)

Once a Fire Control Firefighter has successfully passed their initial development phase, and after a period of gaining experience, they will be eligible to progress through to the next development phase of Crew Manager (if desired). The Fire Control Room Team structure offers a Fire Control Firefighter to have a development plan with a clearly defined career path.
