Monitoring
The senior leadership team should ensure that:
- There are systems in place to monitor how effectively staff are meeting sensory needs, ensuring that young people with SEND make at least expected progress
- There are procedures in place for the senior leadership team to assess how effectively policies are implemented and staff are meeting sensory needs such as classroom observations and pupil panels
- Provision for meeting sensory needs is audited and evaluated
- There ar assessment, tracking and target setting procedures in place across the curriculum for all young people that allow staff to identify any children not achieving or making the expected progress as early as possible
- There are processes in place to monitor and record identified young people’s progress more closely using the principles of Assess, Plan , Do, Review which includes the views of teachers, parents and the young person
- Parent and young person views of the effectiveness of provision in this area are gathered.
