ASYE

We welcome applications from newly qualified Social Workers are committed to assisting them through the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) program. The programme offered by Warwickshire designed to give you the support and time needed to complete achieve your learning goals and complete your portfolio of evidence. We have a dedicated worker to support you throughout your first-year journey and regular opportunities to join up with fellow newly qualified workers throughout the County. As well as the supervision provided by your line manager there is additional monthly reflective supervision and groups supervision with our ASYE link officer.  Half a day a week is set aside for dedicated ASYE work, including training sessions, time for reflection, or portfolio completion. We value the skills and fresh perspectives brought into the council by newly qualified individuals and welcome applications from anyone committed to helping Warwickshire be the best it can be.  

Apprenticeships

We are excited to be able to offer the opportunity to our unqualified people to gain a degree in Social Work through our apprentice scheme. Through the degree you will gain the skills and knowledge to work as a qualified Social Worker. Individuals who have worked for an appropriate amount of time in a full time Social Care role with Warwickshire County Council can apply to go through our selection process to access the course. Our apprenticeships are fully funded by the council and are completed whilst in post. Alongside our partners at Coventry University, we provide support to those studying by offering regular reflective supervision with an in-house Practice Educator. We facilitate day release to attend Coventry University once a week, with the expectation that a level of commitment to studying in your own time takes place. At the end you will come out with BA(hons) in Social Work and can apply for a post within the council as a Social Worker.
