Assessment Identification and Monitoring
Teachers to consider the following:
- Has recent assessment information been used to gain an understanding of the young person’s learning level and to identify the barriers to their learning in the classroom?
- Has the social engagement and behaviour of the class group been monitored (e.g. through observation or survey) and appropriate interventions planned, that can be delivered within class through the curriculum?
- Are young people involved in the development and evaluation of social communication support strategies in class?
- Have refinements have been made within the classroom to meet the needs of young people with autism (such as those within the AET School Standards?
- Are systems in place to support young people to consider and share their states of emotional wellbeing?
