Programme updates: Nuneaton and Bedworth
Activity: Construction of a 4th arm on an existing signalised junction, to provide access into the Top Farm development and facilitate the opening of Higham Lane North Academy in Sept 2025
Developer; Vistry in partnership with Warwickshire Property & Development Group
Contractor: M.Lambe Construction (This is a Developer Let scheme, therefore Vistry have appointed M.Lambe as the s278 contractor)
Status of works; In construction. Official start of s278 works (online element): 10/02/25 - Please note that offline works within the Top Farm site have already commenced, therefore the scheme is unofficially in construction
Completion date; There is currently a 13-week programme, but this programme might be reduced.
Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council have set out their vision for the development of the borough in their Borough Plan 2011 – 2031.
The Borough Plan considers the economic, social and environmental matters and outlines the spatial vision and strategic objectives for the area, along with a strategy and policies to enable its delivery.
Policy HSG3 details the key development principles and objects for the strategic housing site on land located to the north of Gipsy Lane.
A planning application for a residential development of up to 575 houses including a mixed use neighbourhood centre, public open space, footpaths, cycleways, water attenuation basins and associated infrastructure, including the realignment of Gipsy Lane was issued to Nuneaton and Bedworth Council on 31 July 2017 (refer to Trenport Investments Ltd - Planning application Ref. 035037).
Planning permission for the development was granted on 11 January 2021.
